From Hathersage you will pass through Bamford and cross the the Ladybower reservoir to the Upper Derwent Reservoirs. This fantastic trail takes you round the banks of the Ladybower, Derwent & Howden reservoirs, famous for being the place where 617 ‘Dambusters’ squadron tested the bouncing bomb. Curber Edge Walk (14 Miles)
A stiff climb out of Hathersage takes you up to the boulder strewn Higger Tor, Burbage Rocks & onto the Iron Age fort at Carl Wark. A pleasant walk through the Longshaw Estate takes you to the start of a fantastic ridge walk along Froggatt & Curber Edges with fantastic views throughout. After a descent to Curber you join the Derwent Heritage Way which runs by the banks of the River Derwent. You will pass a number of pretty villages, with a number of country pubs to hand.
