Weekend Breaks

£135 per person

Weekend breaks can start & finish on any day of the week (depending on accommodation availability). Some breaks are just for walkers, some are only cycling & others have a days walk & a days cycling.


The Peak District offers numerous historic hamlets, villages and dales most easily accessed by bike, however there are many fantastic trails, quiet streams, great ridges and so on which can only be discovered by taking to 2 feet.

Cycling is a fantastic way to see an area. Not only are you keeping fit in an environmentally friendly manner but you are able to cover a good distance & really get a feel for the places you visit. The Peak District offers some fabulous & diverse scenery and travelling by bike allows you to cover much more ground than walking alone.

The Peak District offers some of the best walking trails England has to offer. From gentle riverside strolls in the limestone dales to spectacular ridge walks in the more rugged north, the Peak District has something for everyone.

A reasonable level of fitness is required as the Peak District is, as the name suggests, quite hilly!

All tours depart on any day of the week subject to accommodation availability.

Most tours are designed so that you start from a Location with good rail links and travel by public transport is recommended.

All prices are based on 2 people sharing either a twin or double room. If you would like to book a single supplement please state this on the booking form & we will contact you to discuss prices & availablity. Most places you will stay are small family run B&B's, country pubs & guesthouses so please book early as single rooms are often limited.

The weather in the Peak District can be very Changeable so it is always advisable to come prepared. Check the weather forecast before departing on any ride & always take suitable clothing & equipment as necessary.

You are provided with spare inner tubes, pumps & puncture repair kits. Punctures can happen at any time so it is important that you know how to fix one. Everything you need & detailed instructions are provided so you can fix punctures for yourself.

All bikes are serviced after every ride, however problems do occasionally occur. In the event that you are unable to fix your bike you can always call our emergency back up line & we will come to meet you & either fix your bike or bring a new one for you.

Peak Tours does not accept liability for any accidents which may occur whilst you are out on your ride. Please exercise due care & attention at all times to avoid any accident or injury to yourselves or anyone else.

Chatsworth House & Miller's Dale

Your tour starts from the tiny hamlet at Monsal Head which sits above the Wye Valley & offers spectacular views & a number of fine country pubs nearby. Your day in the saddle will take you through a number of pretty limestone villages before arriving at Chatsworth House, arguably the finest manor house in England. You will continue through the ancient town of Bakewell with a chance to sample the delicious pudding. Taking to 2 feet your second day will take you along the banks of the river Wye through the picture postcard scenery at St Peters Dale, Litton, Cressbrook and Millers Dale.

Stanage Edge, Ladybower & Castleton

Quiet country lanes take you through the Hope Valley to the Upper Derwent Valley reservoirs. Situated amongst forested banks of pine beneath the surrounding high moorland this enjoyable ride has a distinctive alpine feel.The reservoirs blend in perfectly with the surrounding landscape and the gently undulating route offers a more rugged surrounding landscape than the limestone countryside to the South. Fine ridge walks offer fantastic views throughout your walk and the historic town of Hathersage is a perfect base for your time in the Peak.

Historic Villages & Alpine Trails

Lying on the edge of the Dark & White Peak areas of the Peak District Hathersage is perfectly placed to explore the best of the National Park. This tour comprises 2 contrasting rides which take you around the banks of the Upper Derwent reservoirs to the North which has a much more rugged feel. Your journey South takes you through numerous limestone villages with the chance to sample an ale or two at the many country pubs on offer.

The historic village of Hathersage is suurounded by spectacular ridges and tors such as Higger Tor and the Iron Age fort at Carl Wark. Charlotte Bronte stayed at Hathersage vicarage in 1845, and the village itself appears as ‘Morton’ in her novel Jane Eyre. You will pass through North Lees Hall, built by Robert Eyre & walk along the most famous ridge in the Peak District at Stanage Edge. Another fine walk through the Longshaw Estate and along a series of ridges takes you to the River Derwent which has a number of attractive villages each with its own country pub.

This easy tour takes you to some of the grandest manor houses in the country. Your walk through the Chatsworth Estate offers superb scenery & Chatsworth House is unrivalled as a showcase for art masterpieces & treasures. Your base at Bakewell, known for its delicious 'tart' or pudding as it is known locally is an ideal place to stay to visit not only Chatsworth but also Haddon Hall - said to be the finest example of a Medevil manor house in England.
